Math & Science

Wow...very impressive today!!  I thought you were fantastic the way you embraced pushing beyond grade 9 into how mitosis really works.  I am very proud of you for being open-minded and rolling with this challenge.  Please do not do any Science this weekend.  I want to guide us through this next bit of curriculum if you don't mind.  Hoping to do a lab on Monday if all goes to plan.

For Math, hope you were able to work through the Frayer Models for the Fraction vocabulary.

-improper fraction
-denominator
-numerator
-proper fraction
-equivalent
-lowest terms
-reciprocal
-common denominator
-common multiples

Please ensure that the ones that you are responsible for are complete & well done so you can share them in your groups.

HUM

Thursday, October 8

We've started discussions around political parties, ideologies and platforms. As a result, students have been looking at the parties in Canada and their beliefs on the various portfolios...

Homework - complete the chart....choose 4 issues and the how the parties view those issues (or what they plan to do about the issues)

https://pollenize.org/canada

This website gives you a more in-depth look at the party platforms:
http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-parties-platforms

Also, once your chart is completed, make a decision of which party you would vote for on October 19.

Then, check out the following quizzes to see where you fit on the spectrum... Share with your adults too and compare notes :-)
