Humanities

Hi everyone,

You did great work today with understanding some of our big concepts in Social Studies. See the pictures below and cross reference with your notes (journal work and yellow handout). We will discuss these tomorrow and prep for writing a critical response.

Also, we read "If" by Rudyard Kipling and began work on analyzing the poem.

“If” consists of advice given by a father to his son on what it means to “be a Man”. Various attributes are listed including: self-belief, patience, truthfulness, kindness and modesty. The advice is presented in a series of statements each beginning with the conditional word “if”. Each statement contains a pair of opposites which build up into a strong guide as to how the father feels life should be lived.

Tomorrow we will further our conversation and add to the work on your own Creed. See the handout from today (make sure it goes into your journals) to give you a heads up as to what we will be discussing tomorrow.
